Former Ambassador to South Korea and Uzbekistan, Thiru Skand R Tayal delivered the prestigious Akansha Lecture at RGNIYD

Sriperumbudur, Oct.27 - Former Ambassador to South Korea and Uzbekistan, Thiru Skand R Tayal delivered the prestigious  Akansha Lecture at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development (RGNIYD) here today.

In an inspiring address Ambassador Tayal exhorted the youth to continuously evolve and acquire multiple skills to achieve their full potential.  He cautioned that the society and economy were changing rapidly and it was important for individuals to adapt to the changing professional environment.

Quoting late President A P J Abdul Kalam, Ambassador Tayal challenged students to dream big and strive hard to realize their dreams.  He said that instead of looking for jobs they should create employment by becoming innovators and entrepreneurs.

Drawing on his global experience, Thiru Tayal emphasized the importance of social work and community service.  He said that with collective effort spearheaded by the youth, India has a bright future, where aspirations of all would be fully met.

 While introducing and welcoming the speaker, Professor M. M. Goel, Director, RGNIYD recalled his association with Ambassador Tayal when Prof. Goel was a First ICCR Chair Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul.

The address was followed by a lively Q & A Session. Ambassador Tayal planned a sapling in the campus as part of green campus programme.

Dr. Sharmistha Bhattacharjee HOD of the Dept. of Social Engineering acted as master of ceremony. Dr.P.Sahoo HOD of the Dept. of Development Studies proposed the vote of thanks.
