INAUGURATION Speech was given by the Head of Department – Dr. Sharmistha Bhattacharjee on our entrepreneurship course and its importance and significance. Lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries- The dignitaries present officially inaugrated the event by lighting the lampthe dignitaries present ms. Divya and Mr. Mohammod Mosharrof Hossain were honoured with mementos. Registrar spoke about how it is necessary for the development of skill, and how entrepreneurship plays a vital role in economic development. The differences between a leader and entrepreneur was explained by him elaborately and he gave examples of entrepreneurs in various spheres like business, political and social spheres qualities of successful entrepreneur was also discussed by him GUEST SPEECH Ms.Divya gave us insights on working with school kids, improving education tools, and framing syllabus. How they equipped the slum ladies to earn their own income by way of quilling workshops conducted. How areas like organic farming, waste management have seen changes because of their volunteering work. Radio jockey workshop- where those who knew only tamil were trained in this particular art and were employed in various radio stations green lamps- through this they encouraged kids to be mini entrepreneurs were they grow fenugreek in small paper cups and sell it to their parents Other related areas of their work are self-defence and women’s sanitation which they go to schools and talk to girl children about. Other aspects of her session included, how volunteering changes a person and volunteering impacts in society. She gave us an idea to raise money by quoting her example of she works as a consulpreneur .She spoke about her involvement with Bhumi- NGO. CONDUCTING OF GAMES Various games for administration, non-teaching staff, and gardening and housekeeping staff was conducted by the students in different classrooms VALEDICTORY Welcome address, prize distribution the winners of the respective games were awarded prizes. Dr. B.R.Ambedkar is the Mother of Indian Constitution, Not Father of Indian Constitution The Constitution Day was celebrated at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur on 25th November, 2017. The Constitution Day is being celebrated on 26th November since 2015 as the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India on 26th November, 1949. A Special Lecture was conducted in the Seminar Hall of RGNIYD by the Department of Local Governance, RGNIYD. The special lecture was delivered by Professor Sushma Yadav, presently the Professor of Public Policy & Governance in the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA); Delhi, Member (University Grants Commission; President, Indian Political Science Association; President, National Social Science Association; Member, Press Club of India; earlier Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University. The youth of today should read and follow the Indian Constitution as well think how positively they could contribute in the development of India through the Constitution said Prof. Sushma Yadav. The special guest, Prof. Sushma Yadav discussed the evolution, history, nature, perspectives, dimensions and importance of Indian Constitution in detail. She emphasised that Constitution of India is citizen-oriented which is based on the interest, objectives, welfare and development of Citizens of India. She believed that the history of Indian Constitution started from Indus Valley Civilization and Indian Constitution developed in phased manner. Prof. Sushma Yadav was of the view that Dr.B.R.Ambedkar played an important role in the formulation and development of Constitution of India. She emphasised that Dr.Ambedkar should be given the status of Mother of Indian Constitution rather than Father of Indian Constitution. She discussed the Functions and Rights as enshrined in the Constitution of India. Prof. Yadav emphasised that the youth of today should read and follow the Indian Constitution as well as the youth have to think how positively they could contribute in the development of India through the Constitution. Twenty students were given Certificates for the Essay Competition and Quiz Competition based on Indian Constitution. Prof. M.M.Goel, Director of RGNIYD, while delivering the vote of thanks speech emphasised on the economic views of Dr. Ambedkar to be given importance in India. Dr. Ambedkar through Indian Constitution has shown the right path of development to the Indian Citizens told Prof Goel. Various events were organized in the occasions. Prof. Inderjeet Singh Sodhi, Head, Department of Local Governance delivered the welcome speech. Dr.Gireesan, Dr. H Kalash, Prof. Vasanthi Rajendran and learned faculty graced the occasion.
