To impart leadership skills amongst young people, a workshop on Conscious Leadership and Alchemy of Change was organized with participation of 30 youth leaders. Today the world that we live in is witnessing competition, confusion, and chaos as never before. For the next generation, the competition for survival is going to become more acute and spirited. In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, 66 percent of the population is under the age group of 30 years. Hence, this is the largest constituency which requires attention from policy makers, educational institutions, peace building organizations and political establishment for ensuring a new visionary leadership. Therefore, their aspirations for change need support and guidance so that they bring the desired changes which they wish to see in their world. The prime objective of the workshop was to define a new direction for an emerging future, a leadership that transforms Business, Politics, Society, and Self. The workshop aimed to impart education that provides opportunities to youth to equip them with skills and knowledge so that they can deal with stressful situations. The workshop guided the participants to have a deeper understanding of thoughts, how emotions are triggered, what are core beliefs and how to respond to external stimuli.

2 Training of Trainers on Leadership and Personality Development through Adventure Sports2017-09-13 to 2017-09-22ABVIMAS, Manali

"RGNIYD in its pioneering role to promote adventure activities among the youth of the country took another initiative and facilitated the participation of 55 selected participants from different parts of the country. On reaching ABVIMAS, Manali after a night long journey the day started with registration and rooms were allotted followed by an orientation program where the participants were briefed about the aims and objectives of the 10 day camp. Telling them the rules and regulations of the campus necessary equipment was issued to the participants. In the evening all the participants were divided into units known as ropes in which a senior cadet was given charge to oversee the punctuality and discipline of his/her rope. Duties of quarter master and equipment in charge were also allotted. There were lectures on the different types of knots and their utility. The training included early morning physical training for the acclimatization of the participants. The team went off for trekking and rock climbing where a short lecture on rock climbing was delivered by the instructors. Lectures on Objective and Subjective Hazards was given to the participants to make them familiar with all the hazards. During the 10 days training, participants learned how to deal with the high pressure environment, apply winning styles, skills and attitudes to leadership and lead the teams and maximize the team’s performance by various strategies learnt in the training. "

3 Training of Trainers on Life Skills2017-09-21 to 2017-09-27Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh

RGNIYD RC Chandigarh kick started a 7- days Training of Trainers on Life Skills for the faculty members of Bundelkhand University from 21-27 September 2017 at Bundelkhand university, Uttar Pradesh. Sixty three faculty members from Uttar Pradesh are participating with great enthusiasm to enhance their Life Skills through this training. The training program started with the inaugural ceremony. Professor Gyan Prakash Verma, Regional Higher Education Officers, Jhansi and Chitrakot, Uttar Pradesh threw light on graving situation where he said that earlier a child used to learn Life Skills from his parents but now due to technological advancement and busy schedule of parents , our new generation is getting spoiled. They live in the world of dreaming unaware about the challenges they would face in future. So Life Skills play an important role in making them capable of dealing with these challenges. Programmer Assistant Mr Yogesh Sharma from RGNIYD RC Chandigarh told the participants about the importance of Life Skills. And also highlighted that we are following the same traditional educational system where Lakh of engineers, doctors, and skilled labours are produced but they are not competent enough to get jobs since they lack life skills. So merely getting a degree doesn't ensure success. Mr Nirbhay Singh, Director Projects Arietis Globus, New Delhi said learning is a two way process and one should be keen to learn from anyone at any time to be a successful person. He also said making a mistake is not bad, however repeating that mistake is definitely a cause of concern. Dr S.K Rai NSS Coordinator, Bundelkhand University Jhansi, detailed the 7 days training program to the participants.
