1 Consultation for Rejuvenation of Youth Clubs2017-06-07RGNIYD

The objective of the Consultation was to review the status of youth clubs of NYKS in all the states and to suggest steps to rejuvenate the youth clubs . Suggestions/Recommendations for Rejuvenation of Youth Clubs • Rejuvenation of the youth clubs may be adopted as an official campaign by the Govt. With an official Logo and Slogan appropriate marketing of the campaign to be launched which will motivate all the existing youth clubs to own the opportunity. The year may be declared as the Year for youth club Rejuvenation • Enhanced budget allocation for activities of youth clubs. Proper Documentation and dissemination of success stories by RGNIYD through the DYCs. • Focus youth clubs activities on Skill development for self-employment which will enhance the social acceptability of youth club and empowerment of the local youth (besides SUTPs, Career Guidance, Life Skills, Youth friendly programmes viz., indigenous sports, local sport activities could be included and increased) • Comprehensive study on Youth Club Movement in the Country to be undertaken to know the issues they face at the national and local level. Necessary support can be planned based on realistic issues. • Young people to be offered opportunities to take part in Cultural and Sports competitions under NYK at District, State and National level, as we could offer for Declamation competition. • Age to be followed in consonance with the State-Specific Policies/Criteria to bring uniformity at local level. • To participate in any NYKS related activities including Award for outstanding performance, affiliation with NYKS should be made the eligibility. • Youth clubs may be recommended to be considered at par with SHGs in case of opening bank accounts. • CYBER YOUTH CLUB for individual youth to join NYK. It is high time that NYK seriously consider ways to include individual youth in the nation building activities. Many are disappointed because they have no youth club to join NYK. Cyber youth club will serve the dual purpose of reaching out to the youth on the platform of technology and to offer inclusive participation for individual youth.NYK can plan to manage Cyber Youth club with one deputed DYC in all States with support staff to work with member youth online and to bring them together physically during our activities. All the activities of a youth club are possible in a Cyber youth club. As it grows, Cyber youth club can think about District level activities involving interested online members. Possibilities for rejuvenation of youth clubs movement through online interventions of youth is a concept worth considering. The Consultation was coordinated by the Centre for Training , Orientation and Capacity Building .
