• A lecture on “Project cycle Management” was organized by the Department of Social Work on 07th March 2018 between 11.00am to 1.00pm at Class Room D, RGNIYD. Mr.Jesvin had rich experience in working with both grass root organisation and international organisation along with academic experience shared his knowledge with the students on Project Cycle Management and tools used in each level, he also shared about the preparation of Gantt chart. The session was interesting and interactive, students from other departments along with also benefited.

• Guest Lecture on “TheRole of International Organization and Livelihood support” By Dr. Avilash, Senior Project Associate, Indo-German Center for Sustainability on 14.03.18 in Seminar hall from 11.30 am to 1.00pm. He discussed the role of multilateral organizations in poverty eradication and livelihood issues; he also emphasized the role of youth in development sector. Students from other department along with I and II Year MSW participated actively. The secession was quite interactive.

• Dr. S. Lalitha, HOD, was invited as chief guest to deliver lecture to the students and faculty members of Central Polytechnic College, Taramani on the topic "Appreciate Womanhood" on the occasion International Women's day which was held on 8th March, 2018 at 11.00 a.m.

5 Report on the Visit of the Director General, CIRDAP, Bangladesh to RGNIYD2018-03-25 to 2018-03-27RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur

The RGNIYD hosted the visit of Mr. Tevita G. Boseiwaqa Taginavulau, Director General, Centre on Integrated Rural Development for the Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), Bangladesh from 25-27 March 2018. The CIRDAP as an inter-governmental organisation has 15 member countries in the Asia Pacific including India. The CIRDAP functions with the multifarious objectives of assisting national action and promote regional co-operation relating to Integrated Rural Development (IRD), in the region, acting as a servicing institution for its member states and by encouraging joint collective activities to benefit the member countries both individually and collectively. RGNIYD has an MoU with the CIRDAP for conduct of collaborative programmes, exchange visits etc. The CIRDAP has granted the RGNIYD the status of Observer and has the Director, RGNIYD on the board of its Technical and Advisory Committee. RGNIYD has previously conducted several programmes with CIRDAP. The purpose of the visit is to discuss about the collaborative programmes an explore ways in which both the institutions can strengthen the partnership including the other issues. During his visit, the DG, CIRDAP held discussions with the Registrar, RGNIYD on upscaling the collaborative initiatives. During his visit he also delivered the special address in the One-Day International Seminar on Bullying and Cyber Bullying in Schools: International Perspectives organised by the Department of Applied Psychology, RGNIYD. Later he was taken for an exposure visit to witness the Role of Youth Participation in Village Development and Panchayat System in the Kuthambakkam Village Panchayat and visited various Developmental Projects (Income Generation Projects for Rural Youth and Young Women) in Kuthambakkam Village Panchayat. Further he also visited the IIT Madras’ Rural Technology Business Incubator which incubates start-ups to impact rural/underserved societal segments, leveraging ICT (Information and Communication Technologies).
