Sriperumbudur, Oct. 23 - The Orientation Workshop on â ICT enabled Rural Young Women Entrepreneurship based on eSheBee model of Bangladesh â organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) in collaboration with Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), Bangladesh during 23-27 Oct. , 2017 began here today.
While delivering the inaugural address Professor M.M. Goel, Director RGNIYD opined âeSheBee model of Bangladesh is necessary but not sufficient for encouraging ICT based women entrepreneurship in Indian context. To make it sufficient, we need to ensure loans at zero rate of interest and stop subsidies of all kinds which are misused. We have to explore the possibilities of replicating eSheBee model of Bangladesh for women empowerment in India.â
To keep the cyber criminals at armâs length, we need awareness and knowledge of the cyber laws with strategic thinking and planning, believes Prof. Goel.
We have to understand, analyse, interpret and adopt gender budgeting for women empowerment in self-help group scheme of micro financing and entrepreneurship under MSME Act, believes Prof. Goel.
Each self-help group (SHG) has unique issues, even than the challenges remain the same and require imaginative solutions which are practical, durable and concrete with cooperation and technical support. Let subsidies do not prove counterproductive and prove anti woman, believes Prof. Goel. We need to monitor the implementation of GST in its transition with full sense of responsibility as entrepreneurs including women certainly faced some dislocations, admitted Prof. Goel.
To struggle out the agrarian distress caused by droughts (water table gone down) as well as floods ( water logging, we need to adopt ârain harvestingâ with concrete plan of action for e-marketing of agro products, justified the Director RGNIYD who is an economist.
Mr.Musharaf Hossian, leading EDP trainer from Bangladesh will train the NYK Co-ordinators to train their girl volunteers and youth club members.
