Training of Trainers (ToT) on ‘Youth and Peace Building’ during 08-12 August, 2017

Sriperumbudur, August 08- RGNIYD has organised  the Training of Trainers (ToT) on ‘Youth and Peace Building’ during 08-12 August, 2017. While delivering the inaugural address Professor (Dr.) M.M. Goel, Director RGNIYD said that spiritual economics as needonomics ( economics of needs)  is necessary and sufficient  for ensuing peace building measures in conflict ridden society of today with consumerism and commercialization.

Peace in every head and heart ( consumer, producer, distributor and trader) is necessary and sufficient to say no to stress, tensions and fear caused by spiritual bankruptcy and commercialization , told Prof. Goel.

There is a direct correlation between peace and performance of any economy ensuring intra-generation and inter-generation equity with increase per capita income, said Prof. Goel.

Spiritual economics is a simple and practical formula for corporate sector to adopt corporate social responsibility (CSR) as ‘Trusteeship’ of Mahatma Gandhi who always said India possess sufficient to satisfy needs and not greed, believes the Director.

Spiritually Guided Materialism (SGM) strategy is the need of the day for solving all of the economic and non-economic problems, said Prof Goel.

There is a strong case for marrying spirituality with materialism in terms of SGM strategy flowing from our epics including Bhagwad Gita which is an ism neutral religion free treatise on welfare economics and management, believes Prof. Goel.

Let us learn spiritual economics confining to needs and no to greed in and out of India for all practical aspects of the economy including recession and depression, said Prof, Goel.

To provide youth with training opportunities for taking part in peace building, we have to adopt long-term approach by mobilising their capacities, energy, capabilities, and ability of adaptation to new technological trends. Youth could act as mediators, community mobilisers, humanitarian workers and peace brokers, opined Prof Goel.

Prof. Vasanthi Rajenderan welcomed the guests and presented saplings as part of go green initiative of RGNIYD.  Ms Ambu Kavitha proposed the vote of thanks.
